Earring Hanger - upcycled art :)

I have really been enjoying making these beautiful Earring hangers.
I always like to upcycle, revamp and alter where I can.
I got a whole box load of old frames from a garage sale and I have making quite a few of these lately :)

To make this I took an old frame and painted it with some black arcrylic...around the edge I used embossing ink and stamped all around with a script stamp and then I brushed some beautiful perfect pearls over it.  I love how it gives off these beautiful blue and teal shimmer at different angles.

I used the beautiful Graphic45 couture papers to cover the background and then adhered with my glue gun some edging that I cut from a crochet doily.  Glued some pearl trim along the top of the crochet trim to not only embellish but to also stop the earrings from weighing it down.

I then just gor stuck in and embellished the corners with a cluster of goodies.
Beautiful rossette trim flowers, vintage buttons, bling, flat back pearls a beaded spray that I made and some black sequin trim really bring this frame to life :)

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Check out this video for a closer look at this altered frame :)

Ribbon Roses - How I make them Shabby

Hey there
As you know I love to make flowers and sometimes when the mood takes me I make a pile of these easy peasy ribbon roses.  They are so useful to have on hand when you need a little embellishment to fill a gap or just let them shine on their own...the little satin ones really soften the look of any creation.

With these ribbon roses I have added other fabrics to give them an extra shabby look.
So easy and fun to make.

So much fun to experiment with different fabrics to make these rolled ribbon roses shabby....lace, pearl trim, tulle, cheese clothe the ideas are endless and perfect for co-ordinating colour and textures to you creations :)

here's a tutorial on how I make these beautiful little tresures :)

Hope you give these a try :)

Mini Album - Kaisercraft

Hey guys
Kids are back at school and things can start to get back to normal.  waved my boy off yesterday morning as he began his year at college.  Still can't believe I have 2 teens...where does the time go.
Oh well I dried my tears and decided to get stuck in to crafting...YAY!!!
This week I wanna show you a little Mini Album...I was inspired by a Mini that Kimi had sent me.  I really loved the paper she used up against black cardstock and thought that this gorgeous Bluebell Paper by Kaiser craft would be perfect.

This collection has such a great colour pallette I really love creating this mini.  I used alot of the elements that come in the collection the collectible, stickers from the 12 x 12 sticker sheet,  cut out some of the journaling spaces.  Things come together so easily when you have the whole collection.

Heres a vid of you want to check this album out more closely.

Hope you guys have had a great week so far and managed to get some crafty time in.  I look forward to sharing another project with you next week.

Upcycled Frame - Button heart

Hey guys
I am now contributing to a blog called Creative Craft Cottage a really fun blog with challenges every month and this months challenge theme is Love.

Well...I'm a pretty simple type of thinker lol and so when I think of love I think Hearts <3 <3 so here we are.

Awhile ago I got this big box of old frames from a garage sale Yard sale )  and I've been working my way through them and this was awesome because I got to combine collage, repurposing, and hot glueing my all time fav thing to do...and look at all the pearly, blingy goodies!!!!  HEAVEN

I painted the frame with a couple of layers of acrylic paint...gave it a little spritz with some Lindys Jack Frost and sanded the edges to give it that worn shabby look...I finished it with a coat of modge podge.

I really loved this fun easy peasy project...hope you give it a try and find something to re-purpose and alter. Can't wait to see what creatIons of LOVE you guys make.  Be sure to check out these links to see more of my crafts :)

Shabby Wall Hanging - Sew Crafty

Wow guys I can't believe it my 3rd blog post in 2 days sheesh I'm going good guns :)
This is just a little gift I made for a crafty friend.

With some scrap card I cut a heart shape and modge podged some old dictionary paper to it.
I then adhered a crochet doily and cut around it.
Once that was done it was all fun from there on embellishing it with some of my Handcrafted flowers. Ribbon roses I made and lots of other goodies.

Added some seam binding that I had tea-dyed, stick pins, metal heart and butterly.  The sissors are a lil wood vaneers, a little cotton spool that I wrapped some pearl trim around and a few vintage buttons.  I polymer clay bird that my friend made...his tail broke but I fixed that up :) I also rubbed a little bit of cream arcrylic paint around the place to give it more of a shabby look.

I love making things for my crafty friends this was so easy and fun to make I hope you give something like this a try :)
